What information we collect
Casino Rank Lab is a read-only editorial website. We do not require you to register or create an account. The information we collect is limited to what is needed for the site to function and what you choose to provide when contacting us.
Browser storage
When you visit the site, we store two small items in your browser's local storage:
- Age confirmation. A record that you have confirmed you are 18 or over. This means the age gate does not reappear on subsequent visits from the same browser.
- Cookie preference. Your choice regarding optional analytics cookies. This is stored so you are not shown the cookie banner on every visit.
Neither of these items contains personal information. They are stored locally in your browser and are not transmitted to our servers.
Contact form data
If you submit a message through our contact form, we collect the name, email address, subject, and message body you provide. This information is used solely to respond to your enquiry.
Analytics (optional)
If you accept optional analytics cookies, we may collect anonymised data about page visits, such as which pages were viewed and how long was spent on the site. This data does not identify you personally.
How we use the information
The small amount of information we do collect is used for three things:
- To remember your preferences. Browser storage is used to avoid showing you the age gate and cookie notice on every visit.
- To respond to your messages. If you contact us, we use the email address you provide to reply. We do not add you to mailing lists or share your contact details with third parties.
- To understand how the site is used. If you have accepted analytics cookies, anonymised visit data helps us understand which parts of the site are most useful and whether pages are loading correctly.
We do not sell personal data, share it with advertisers, or use it for profiling of any kind.
Third-party links
Casino Rank Lab contains links to external websites, including the casino sites in our comparison and responsible gambling organisations. Clicking one of these links will take you to a website that is not operated by us.
Once you leave our site, this privacy policy no longer applies. We have no control over how third-party sites handle your data, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies before providing any personal information.
Some outbound links to casino operators are affiliate links. If you visit an operator through one of these links, the operator may use their own cookies and tracking. We disclose this on every page where such links appear.
Cookies and local storage
There are two types: storage that the site needs in order to work, and optional analytics cookies that only run if you say yes.
Essential (always active)
Two entries in your browser's local storage are used to make the site work properly:
age-confirmed-18— stores that you have confirmed your age. Without this, the age gate appears on every page load.cookie-consent-choice— stores your cookie preference so the banner does not reappear.
These are not transmitted off your device and contain no personal data.
Optional (requires consent)
If you accept optional cookies via the banner, anonymised analytics cookies may be set. These help us understand visitor numbers and behaviour in aggregate. They do not identify individual visitors.
You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser's local storage and cookies, then revisiting the site and selecting "Reject optional" on the cookie banner.
Your rights under UK GDPR
